This model of a sling shows the centripetal force and the velocity of the pendulum at the end of the string.
The key point, is that the centripetal force (yellow arrow) acts to pull the ball away from its straight line (inertial) trajectory.

- Pull on the head of the arrow to increase the velocity of the ball.
- Click the ball to release it.
- Drag on the wooden knob at the opposite end of the string to the ball closer in to the axis.

Odds and Ends
- Easter egg: If you tilt the scene so you can look north, you'll see the Earth. You can hit it with the ball if you release if from the string at just the right time.
